Police have arrested a man after police recovered what they believe are the remains of his 24-year-old wife, who was last seen on Tuesday.

Denver police seek help in finding missing woman

Jonathan N. Mijangos, 23, was apprehended Friday afternoon and is being held on suspicion of first-degree murder. His wife, Jasmin Cigarroa, was reported missing on Wednesday after not being seen or heard from since the night before. 

Investigators began searching an area of rural Adams County after receiving a tip on Thursday, but the search was suspended due to darkness.

On Friday morning, authorities located human remains that are believed to belong to Ciagarro. 

According to police, domestic violence played a role in the crime.

Denver’s Office of the Medical Examiner will determine if the body found is Ciagarro and a cause of death at a later date.
