Dispute at hotel in Fort Collins results in one person dead

A 43-year-old man accused of attacking a woman in the lobby of a hotel in Fort Collins has died, according to a release from the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a report of a disturbance in process at the Clarion Inn located at 3836 E. Mulberry Street in northeast Fort Collins at 7:22 a.m. Wednesday.

Several witnesses told investigators they saw the man physically attacking a 34-year-old woman in the hotel lobby, which caused two woman and three or four men to get involved and assist the woman, according to the release.
The incident stopped when deputies arrived on-scene and immediately took the man into custody. He was then transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead, according to the release.

The victim, a Fort Collins resident, was transported to a local hospital and was later transferred to a Denver Metro medical facility for further treatment, according to the release.
Her current status is unknown.
Deputies said the origin and manner of the injuries the 43-year-old man sustained have yet to be determined.
No arrests have been made, but deputies are working alongside the coroner’s office to examine evidence collected at the scene.
