2 arrested in Jefferson County after juvenile shot in face
Two juveniles have been arrested in connection to a September shooting in which a juvenile was shot in the face, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said Friday.
The victim is stable and expected to make a full recovery, the sheriff’s office said.
Deputies responded to the Swedish Southwest emergency room on Sept. 18 for a report of a juvenile who had been shot.
The investigation determined the shooting occurred at a residence near West Ken Caryl Avenue and South Simms Street. Deputies were originally told the shooting happened at Clement Park.
The sheriff’s office said the shooting was not random.
The two who were arrested in connection to the case are being held at a juvenile detention facility.
One of the juveniles faces charges of first-degree assault, second-degree assault, tampering with evidence and possession of a handgun by a juvenile.
The second juvenile faces possession of a handgun by a juvenile.
