Two men and a woman are being held in Jefferson County Detention Center in connection to a Lakewood robbery that ended in a fatal car accident on Dec. 4.

Donna C. Smith, 50 and William K. Mays, 40, are charged with various crimes including first-degree murder and are not eligible for bond, according to online court records.

Logan J. Doutrich, 44, was charged with three charges including vehicular homicide-reckless driving, vehicular eluding and theft.

Lakewood Police responded to a report of an ongoing robbery at 489 S. Wadsworth Blvd shortly before 2 p.m. on Dec. 4.

When officers arrived to the Ulta Beauty store, they spotted several suspected fleeing the scene in a red Mitsubishi Galant and began a pursuit.

During the chase, authorities say the suspect’s vehicle crashed into a Honda Civic near the intersection on West 1st Avenue and Harland Street.

Authorities pronounced the man driving the Civic dead at the scene.

The man’s identity has not been released.

The three suspects were transported to a nearby medical facility to be treated for their wounds and were arrested upon their discharge.

Smith and Doutrich were arrested on Dec. 5, while Mays was apprehended on Wednesday, according to online court records.

Doutrich is the only suspect eligible for bond at $500,000.

Smith and Doutrich have a preliminary hearing scheduled for Jan. 7, according to online court records.
