Arapahoe County Fair tickets on sale; organizers seek volunteers
The Arapahoe County Fair returns for its 118th year in July and tickets are on sale now.
Tickets for the Arapahoe County Fair, in its 118th year, are now on sale and coordinators are looking for volunteers to help put it on.
The fair runs from July 25 through July 28 at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds, 25690 E. Quincy Ave., Aurora, and tickets for the fair officially went on sale last week, according to a news release.
Adult tickets are $25 and kids under three feet tall get in for free, the release said. Along with entrance to the fair, the ticket also includes parking, unlimited carnival rides, access to rodeos, fireworks, live entertainment, and other activities.
Arapahoe County Commissioner Carrie Warren-Gully called the event the “best deal in town for wholesome family fun.”
“We are so excited to continue the tradition of the Arapahoe County Fair dating back to 1906,” Warren-Gully said. “We’ve added new attractions and events that are sure to be a hit with everyone in the family.”
The fair is in its 118th year of celebrating and showcasing the county’s agricultural and western heritage, with 4-H programming, agricultural and educational activities and entertainment, according to the release.
On Friday July 26, fair visitors age 21 and over can attend Pours on the Plains, a special ticketed brew festival with over 15 local breweries, live music, and games.
To make the fair run smoothly, organizers are looking for volunteers to help with set-up and events, according to the county website.
The first Arapahoe County Fair in 1906 was held on the bank of the South Platte River in what is now Littleton, according to its website, and has since become one of the county’s longest-standing community traditions.
It moved to the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds on its 100th anniversary in July of 2006.
