Bicyclist dead after Aurora hit-and-run Monday morning
A bicyclist was found dead on the side of the road after an apparent hit-and-run in Aurora on Monday morning, police said.
Dispatchers first received reports of a downed bicyclist in the 1600 block of Powhaton Road, near Jewell Avenue, just after 9:30 a.m. Monday, according to a news release from the Aurora Police Department.
A passerby pulled over and reported that the bicyclist had apparently suffered injuries and did not survive, according to the release. Responders confirmed the victim was dead.
Investigators believe the incident was the result of a hit-and-run with a vehicle, but do not have a description of it at this time.
