Bobcat spotted in Centennial neighborhood, authorities warn residents
Authorities in Arapahoe County are warning residents about a new neighbor prowling their neighborhood.
A bobcat has been spotted in a Centennial neighborhood, according to an X post from the Arapahoe County sheriff’s office. The animal has specifically been spotted in the area of South Holly Street and East Dry Creek.
Deputies are warning residents to remain alert and keep pets on a leash or inside. Authorities told residents not to approach the bobcat or attempt to feed it, and report any aggressive behavior to local authorities.
Bobcats are commonly found throughout North America. They can grow to be about 15 to 30 pounds, about the size of a medium-sized dog.
Bobcats also rarely attack people, and typically will run away if threatened. However, they can be dangerous to smaller pets.
