As the weather in Colorado heats up this week, the competition for Denver’s Best Ice Cream Shop is starting to sizzle.

The Denver Gazette’s readers narrowed the field from the Sweet 16 down to the Elite 8 in our annual March Madness-style bracket.

A total of 1,392 ballots were cast in the Sweet 16 round. Bonnie Brae Ice Cream emerged as the top overall vote-getter of the week with 707 votes to defeat Colfax and Cream, 707-177.

A mere 13 votes decided the closest matchup of the week. Sadboy Creamery barely squeaked past God Save The Cream, 543-530.
