Denver weather: Warm but with slight thunderstorm chances
The temperature takes a significant jump up on Friday, but that isn’t going to keep the rain away in Denver.
The National Weather Service said to expect a high of around 83 today despite mostly cloudy skies. Winds could gust up to 21 mph.
The weather service is giving Denver a “Marginal Risk” of thunderstorm warnings, which they classify as 1 out of 5. If thunderstorms do hit, they are most likely to hit hardest east of I-25.
The moisture is forecasted in the late afternoon for Denver, and the weather service put the odds at just 30%.
The southwest corner of the state received a red flag warning today from the National Weather Service, and much of the southern part of the state, including Colorado Springs, is under a hazardous weather outlook for more severe thunderstorms and strong winds.
Rain is still forecasted for Saturday, and is expected to clear up on Sunday.
Tonight, expect a low of around 52 degrees and for the winds to stay moderate.
