Highlands Ranch native Tyson Gilbert named assistant coach for Colorado basketball | Colorado Sunshine
Where good news shines
Tad Boyle’s Colorado basketball staff has a new assistant coach.
Tyson Gilbert, who attended Rock Canyon High School and played his college ball at CSU Pueblo, was named on Wednesday an assistant coach and quality control analyst for the Buffs, Boyle said.
Gilbert takes over the vacancy left by Mike Rohn, who departed CU for a position with the Kansas City basketball program.
“These past two years I’ve learned a ton and have been able to just grow as a coach and more importantly as a person,” Gilbert said. “I’d like to thank coach Boyle and the entire staff for allowing me to grow. I’m extremely excited for the future in this role.”
Gilbert previously served as a graduate assistant for the Buffs. A Highlands Ranch native, Gilbert played at CSU Pueblo from 2018-20 and later graduated from Alaska Anchorage.
