Man killed in Aurora triple shooting Wednesday identified

A man who was shot and killed in an Aurora parking lot Wednesday night has been identified.

James Michael Young, 43, died from a gunshot wound sustained in the parking lot of 1155 S Havana St. in Aurora Wednesday night, according to a news release received from the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office Thursday afternoon. His manner of death has been classified as a homicide.

Young was one of two people found shot by Aurora police, who responded to the scene just after 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to a news release from the Aurora Police Department received Wednesday night. He died on the scene while the other man was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The second man was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. A short time later, police identified a woman who had also sustained a gunshot wound and had arrived at the hospital in a private vehicle. She remains hospitalized with serious injuries, police said.

All the victims are adults and police believe that at least one of them know the suspect(s), but as of now no arrests have been made, according to the release.

An employee of M H Liquors, a liquor store located at the address listed in the release, said Thursday morning that one of their coworkers heard the shots from inside but did not witness the incident directly. They also said they did not believe the people involved had been shopping at the store before the shooting occurred.
