[WATCH] Bull Moose Sparring Outside of Breckenridge

Recently, these bull moose were found sparring in the Breckenridge, Colorado area. Though it’s not as public as elk rut is in Estes Park, this filming occurred during the time of moose rut in the Rockies. Moose rut typically lasts from late September to early October each fall. During this time, the average male moose weighs around 1,000 pounds, with some reaching closer to 1,600 pounds. It’s also worth noting that during rut season, the muscles in a male moose’s neck expand to roughly twice the normal size.
