Two wildfires burn in Rocky Mountain National Park
According to park officials, two small wildfires have sparked inside of Rocky Mountain National Park, both in remote locations, as of late Thursday.
One fire is burning below Trail Ridge Road between Rocky Cut and Forest Canyon overlook. While Upper Beavers Meadows Road has been closed, Trail Ridge Road is still open. This fire is estimated at 3 to 5 acres.

The second fire is burning near Mirror Lake. It’s less than one acre.
Some trails have been closed due to the fires and some backcountry camping spots have been shut down. Trail closures include portions of Mirror Lake Trail. The Comanche Peak trail is also closed from the park boundary southbound to Mirror Lake.
According to a recent Facebook post on the Rocky Mountain National Park page, smoke from the fires may be visible throughout the park today.
