I-70 closes over Vail Pass on Monday for avalanche mitigation
Interstate 70 will be closed over Vail Pass on Monday morning for avalanche reduction, the Colorado Department of Transportation announced late Sunday.
The roughly hour-long closure for both directions of the interstate is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. between mile markers 176 (Vail) and 195 (Copper Mountain/Leadville/CO 91).
