9 new restaurants coming to Colorado Springs Airport, including food concept from Chef Brother Luck
The Colorado Springs Airport will gain nine new restaurant options, including Einstein Bros. Bagels and Street Eats by Chef Brother Luck, as the nearly 30-year-old airport moves to revamp its concourse.
Passing through the airport, travelers might notice distinct differences in infrastructure, decor and ambiance between its pre-security and gate sides.
The concourse remodel, which started in September with help from a federal grant, is the latest step in the airport’s efforts to modernize its facility as traffic continues to grow.
‘Significant milestone’ for Colorado Springs Airport with new flight
A choice of food and beverages is a key component of that transformation, airport staffers said via email.
“Our aim is to ensure that every traveler enjoys a positive experience at COS,” they wrote, “and this represents one of the methods through which we plan to achieve that goal.”
That’s why the Colorado Springs Airport awarded SSP America, an operator of food and beverage brands in travel, a contract to curate and facilitate a collection of local and national dining options at the airport until 2035.
Those food and drink options are:
Atrevida Beer Co., a local craft brewer, will offer an all-day, full-service menu.
Camden Food Co., SSP’s 24/7 grab-n-go station, will sell “healthy” food options and dietary specializations.
Colorado Craft, a Colorado Springs staple brand will offer a menu of classic American meals.
Drifter’s Hamburgers, a fast-food joint will provide quick options that tout “local beef.”
Einstein Bros. Bagels and Einstein Bros. Express, the nation’s largest bagel brand, will serve all-day breakfast options, coffee and snacks.
Mi Casa Cantina, a Mexican grill aims to serve quick options all day.
Peet’s Coffee, a national coffee brand, will serve beverages and quick bites.
Pizzeria Rustica, a local pizza spot, will serve salads and desserts in addition to its wood-fired oven pizzas.
Street Eats by Chef Brother Luck, a full-service bar and restaurant menu from local celebrity chef Brother Luck, will feature items such as the Bacon Jam Burger seen on “The Rachel Ray Show.”
But the host of restaurants won’t pop up overnight.
The soonest the new eats could be available is early 2024 for restaurants housed on the airport’s pre-security side, such as Atrevida and Peet’s.
Other food options inside the gate area will be phased in as construction stages of the remodel project are completed from late 2024 through early 2026.
The airport’s current food and beverage options, such as Pizza Hut and Pikes Perk, will remain until their respective spaces are closed for construction. The nine new options will replace the current food outlets.
The Colorado Springs area is on track to reach 1 million people. Will bigger be better?
