Adam Sandler poses with Colorado hockey team
LOVELAND, Colo. — The Colorado Eagles have a legendary fan. Adam Sandler, wearing an Eagles shirt, posed for a picture with some of the players after his comedy show in Loveland Monday.
Comedians Rob Schneider and Jon Loughran were also part of this celebrity-laden photo, which the American Hockey League team shared via X with the caption, “Is that Gilmore again??”
The team also shared a clip of an iconic hockey scene in Sandler’s movie “Happy Gilmore,” but the team edited the helmet Sandler wears to display the Eagles logo.
Sandler performed at Blue Arena on Monday, the first Colorado stop of his “I Missed You” tour.
The Eagles told 9NEWS that the comedian saw the team’s locker room and asked if any of the players were around— coincidentally, some of the players were already attending his show.
Sandler is set to be back in Colorado for his comedy show at Denver’s Ball Arena on Dec. 12. You can find ticket information here.
As for the Eagles, the team will play against the Tucson Roadrunners on Friday and Saturday. This will be their chance to level up after two consecutive losses against Iowa Wild the weekend prior.
The team ended the 2022-23 season with a 6-2-2 record during their last 10 games, finishing in seventh place among the 10-team Pacific Division of the American Hockey League.
