Colorado zoo light display ranks second best in the country
When the sun sets zoos across the country light up with stunning illuminated displays throughout the holiday season.
USA Today published their list of the best zoo lights events that “you don’t want to miss this holiday season.” One Colorado zoo made the cut to be included in the rankings.
USA Today’s 10Best is a readers’ choice awards program that spotlights the country’s best destinations, food and drink, hotels, and activities. The nominees for each category are selected by an expert panel and readers vote to determine the winners.
Cheyenne Mountain Zoo’s Electric Safari took second place. Electric Safari consists of more than 85 light sculptures, larger-than-life illuminated inflatable animals, and a holiday-safari-themed drone show. Guests can also have experiences with animals and visit Santa.
The display opened on Dec. 6, 2024, and will run through Jan. 1, 2025.
The PNC Festival of Lights at Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden in Cincinnati, Ohio ranked first.
