With hot temperatures and crowded trails, summer hiking in Colorado can be quite the hassle. That said, there is a way to beat the heat (and crowds) – hike at night. Hiking in the dark provides an entirely new perspective and a new way to enjoy the Centennial State’s stunning hiking trails as they’re lit by moonlight – just don’t forget to bring a couple charged headlamps along, too.
Here are ten “night hikes” to take across Colorado:
Editor’s Note: Before embarking on any of these hikes, check to make sure that current policy allows nighttime hiking. Some trailheads have closure times and policies that may be subject to change.
