Halloween celebration to feature whimsical lighting and pumpkin artistry

Hudson Gardens is hosting its fifth year of the Magic of the Jack O’ Lanterns festivals, and this year will feature 7,000 hand-carved pumpkins, expanded trails, and brand-new interactive features.

The festival will take place from Sept. 19 through Nov. 2. Guests will explore a “two-hour glowing journey,” where they’ll see entertaining pumpkin scenes of characters, a nautical seascape, a pirate ship, dinosaurs, dragons, and more.

This year will include a newly redesigned trail called the Enchanted Hollow Trail that has enchanting lighting, spooky witches, newly carved pumpkin designs, and a Halloween-themed inflatable maze. There will also be a synchronized light show set to music every 30 minutes.

Also new for 2025 is a dance party area where guests can enjoy seasonal classics, and even add on a DIY S’mores package, 3-D Jack O’ Lantern glasses, or the inflatable maze.

“Magic of the Jack O’ Lanterns’ fifth season is introducing even more whimsy and wonderment with the Enchanted Hollow Trail,” said Marissa Kopp, Magic of the Jack O’ Lanterns General Manager, in a press release. “This milestone year will not only feature a variety of never-before-seen spectacular displays, but it significantly extends the length of the event. This is in addition to the beloved Jack O’ Lanterns Trail that has delighted guests since our opening. Both trails are included with your ticket, and you can further elevate your experience with interactive elements, a kid-friendly maze, and some of Falls most popular treats and drinks. This is truly a special way to cleebrate a magical time of year.”
