Hunt for bike-riding suspect who ‘slapped buttocks’ of females underway in Colorado

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has alerted the public about three incidents of unlawful sexual contact that have recently been reported.

The first incident occurred at about 7 p.m. on September 25 along Amber Light Trail and Amber Light Avenue, north of Sterling Ranch and just south of Chatfield State Park. In that incident, a white male suspected – possibly in his mid-20s – was riding an electric bike or dirt bike past a female when he slapped her on the buttocks. The female victim was walking her dog at the time of the encounter.

A second similar incident involving a different victim took place in the area of Daniels Park at 7739 Daniels Park Road on September 30 at about 6 p.m. In that incident, a male suspect on an electric bike passed the female vehicle after saying “on your left.” He then slapped her on the buttocks as he passed. Authorities say another woman reported a similar incident happening in the same area.

At this time, it remains unclear if the incidents are connected.

“We are sharing this information to keep our community informed and to encourage anyone who may have seen something suspicious or has information to come forward,” reads a press release on the matter. “These are serious offenses, and we are committed to holding those responsible accountable.”

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office asking anyone with information to contact Detective Cataffo at mcataffo@dcsheriff.net.

Unlawful sexual contact is typically a class one misdemeanor in Colorado, though this can be escalated to a class four felony depending on the circumstances of the crime.
