2 killed in single-engine plane crash near Erie airport
ERIE, Colo. — A single engine plane crashed near the Erie Municipal Airport Sunday afternoon, killing both people onboard, the Erie Police Department said.
The plane, a JMB Aircraft VL-3, crashed east of the runway. Police were called to the scene around 3:30 p.m.
The victims’ names have not yet been released. Police said they were not residents of Colorado.
Mountain View Fire Rescue, the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board responded to the scene.
