Colorado city ranks among best in terms of on-time airport departures
The Bureau of Transportation Statistics has published its rankings of airport on-time departure performance through June 2025, and one Colorado city ranked among the top 25.
According to data from the BTS, Denver ranked 28th on the list of “Major Airport On-Time Departure performance Year-to-date through June 2025.” Denver International Airport had a percentage of being 73.34 of the time, the data shows.
This is a slight decrease from 2024. Last year, DIA took 23rd place on the rankings, reportedly having flights be on time 72.99 percent of the time.
Salt Lake City, Utah took first place as the airport with flights being on-time, ,with flights departing on-time 83.94 percent of the time according to the BTS.
According to its website, DIA is one of the world’s busiest airports since it first opened n 1995. In 2022, the airport served 69.3 million passengers. This made it the world’s third-busiest airports during the global pandemic. In 2024, that number climbed to a record-breaking 82.4 million passengers. DIA also reports that it generated $47.2 billion in annual economic impact for the state.
