‘Breaking Bad’ star to visit Colorado school for event that’s open to public
Best known for his role as the villainous Gus Fring in the hit series ‘Breaking Bad,’ Giancarlo Esposito is set to speak at University of Colorado Boulder’s Macky Auditorium next month.
The event, dubbed “An Evening with Giancarlo Esposito,” will take place at 7 p.m. on November 4. Tickets are priced at a reasonable $2 for students, $8 for CU faculty, and $15 for general public.
An Emmy-nominated actor, director, and producer, Esposito is appearing as a guest of the student-run Distinguished Speakers Board, with his conversation expected to cover topics of “identity, breaking boundaries through storytelling, creative leadership, human connection and the importance of tenacity.” He’ll also be sharing his reflections from a career spent navigating Hollywood.
“For students exploring their own identities and ambitions, Esposito’s story underscores the importance of authenticity and perseverance in the face of doubt,” said Cooper Baldwin, chairman of the Distinguished Speakers Board. “His presence on campus promises to be both energizing and reflective. An invitation to consider how character, integrity and creativity shape not only art, but the impact one leaves on the world.”
In addition to his role in Breaking Bad and prequel series Better Call Saul, Esposito has also been involved in hits like The Usual Suspects, The Boys, Dear White People, The Mandalorian, and Westworld, along with many other shows and movies.
