A good street taco is hard to beat, and a recent article from The Takeout sought to track down the best option for the dish in every American state.

Street tacos are one of those foods that can be great from a fancy restaurant, a low-key taco shop found in a strip mall, or a food truck, often offering a quick and easy dining option with a bit of room for some creativity.

As far as Colorado goes, The Takeout deemed Kiké’s Red Tacos as the best place to find a street taco – in the Mile High City and beyond.

If the Kiké’s name sounds familiar, it may be because you heard about the spot as a food truck when it won The Denver’s Post’s March Madness taco bracket in 2022. While this spot got its start serving tacos street-side, a brick-and-mortar restaurant has since opened at 1200 W. 38th Avenue, and it’s got a respectable 4.6-star rating on Google and a 4.4-star rating on Yelp.

While fans of the spot rave about their tacos – including the ‘queso taco’ and the ‘vampire’ varieties, the spot also offers birria ramen, quesadillas, and street fries, too – all of which seem to be favorites among patrons.

Kiké’s accolades don’t stop at their March Madness taco bracket victory, either – the spot was also dubbed Westword’s ‘Best Taco’ spot in 2023, as well as Denver’s top-rated food truck on Yelp in 2021.
