Two Colorado spots among most expensive ZIP codes in US
A report recently released by PropertyShark sought to determine where the most expensive ZIP codes are in the United States by looking at median home prices. While the most expensive ZIP code was one in Miami Beach and the rest of the ‘top 10’ was dominated by California and New York, two Colorado spots were included among the ‘top 100.’
Nationwide, the most expensive ZIP code was Miami Beach’s 33109, where the median sale price of a home was $9,500,000. Even low-end homes in this area were notably expensive, as might be expected, with the cheapest home that was sold this year going for $1.41 million. On the other end of the spectrum, the most expensive home that was purchased in the 33109 ZIP code went for about $23.7 million.
While Colorado has its fair share of pricy resort towns, the first Centennial State spot to land on the ‘most expensive ZIP codes’ list landed at 42nd – 81611, the ZIP code of Aspen. In this ZIP code, the median price for a home was determined to be $2.8 million.
Only one other Colorado ZIP code was included among the most expensive 100, and it was in Pitkin County, too – 81654, the ZIP code of Snowmass, ending up in 67th place. In Snowmass, the median home sale price of 2025 was $2.45 million.
