Firefighters rescue dog trapped in culvert in Denver

Firefighters in the Denver metro area rescued a dog that got trapped in a culvert last Thursday night.

According to a Facebook post from the South Adams County Fire Department, firefighters responded to the incident at around 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 6 when a resident’s dog, Pebbles, chased a rabbit into an 18 inch culvert.

The rescue team members had to execute a confined space entry to retrieve the dog. The rescuer used specialized equipment and techniques to crawl into the culvert approximately 100 feet to perform the technical rescue.

The dog was successfully reunited with her owners.

“We extend out gratitude to our dedicated firefighting crews and technical rescue team for their swift efforts, which resulted in successfully reuniting Pebbles with her relieved owners,” reads the Facebook post.
