Colorado botanic gardens nominated for best holiday lights display
As the holiday season approaches, botanic gardens across the U.S. transform into sparkling displays of lights as they switch from spring flowers to festive decorations.
USA Today has announced nominations for the best holiday lights at botanical gardens and one Colorado spot was nominated.
USA Today’s 10Best is a readers’ choice awards program that highlights the best in everything from destinations and hotels to food, drink, and things to do. An expert panel selects the nominees and readers vote for their favorites to determine the ten winners.
The Denver Botanic Gardens’ Blossoms of Light was nominated. The annual display runs from mid-November through early January and includes hundreds of thousands of holiday lights to “illuminate the winter beauty of the Denver Botanic Gardens.” Guests can also visit the Offshoots Cafe and Hive Garden Bistro to a holiday treat or warm beverage. The lights display consists of a mile-long path through the garden’s plant collection.
Readers can vote once per day until the polls close on Monday, Dec. 1 at noon. The winners will be announced on Wednesday, Dec. 10.
Blossoms of Light at Denver Botanic Gardens is currently in twelfth place.
