Colorado spot ranks 27th on list of ‘Greatest American Restaurants of the 21st Century”
At this point, the world is roughly a quarter of the way through the 21st century – and what a ride it’s been.
Luxury lifestyle publication Robb Report recently announced their picks for the country’s ‘best restaurants since 2000,’ said to be voted on by 250 “food world luminaries.” The voting committee included a mix of esteemed chefs, restauranteurs, sommeliers, ingredient purveyors, well-traveled diners, and more, with voters asked to “think about their own definition of greatness by considering the quality of the dining experience, influence, staying power, and other factors they deemed important in making a place truly great.”
Most of the spots that made the cut to be included on the list were full-service fine-dining establishments, though there were some surprises outside of that genre, too.
As far as Colorado goes, only one Centennial State restaurant made the cut to be included, and it’s likely one that those passionate about the local cuisine scene have heard of before.
Ranking 27th on the list of 100 spots nationwide was Boulder’s Frasca Food and Wine.
“While working at the French Laundry, master sommelier Bobby Stuckey and chef Lachlan Mackinnon-Patterson met,” reads the Robb Report description of the highly-acclaimed spot. “Within a few years, they had both decamped to Boulder, Colo., to open a restaurant together. It would be fine dining, but not French. Instead, they created a destination restaurant with food and wine devoted to the Northeast corner of Italy that would still use Colorado ingredients. The tasting-menu spot has gathered numerous accolades over the years, from a Michelin star to Outstanding Restaurant at the 2025 James Beard Awards.”
On Google Reviews, Frasca Food and Wine has a 4.6-star experience, with many reviewers noting that the spot lived up to the high reputation. Repeat visitors also chime in to note that excellence comes with each return trip, with several patrons also mentioning that the Frasca wine list is “unmatched.”
