Highly-rated Castle Rock brewery expanding into current home of Colorado Springs brewery opened in 2008
A highly-rated 4.9-star brewery out of Castle Rock is set to expand into Colorado Springs – and it will be taking the place of a local brewery that’s been slinging out craft beers for 17 years.
According to an announcement from 105 West Brewing Company, they’ll be opening a second location at 1466 Garden of the Gods Road in Colorado Springs in January 2026. Those familiar with the craft beer scene in Colorado Springs may recognize this address as that of Trinity Brewing Company, which opened in 2008.
“We’re thrilled to announce that 105 West Brewing is expanding!” reads a Facebook post from 105 West on the matter. “Coming January 2026, we’ll be opening our second location in Colorado Springs — at the current home of Trinity Brewing on Garden of the Gods Road. While we’re excited about this new chapter, we also want to take a moment to celebrate Trinity Brewing for their 17 amazing years of fun, creativity, and community. They will be open through December 21st so stop by and wish Matt and the Trinity team all the best in what’s next.”
First opened in 2015, the name ‘105 West’ comes from how the Castle Rock location and the soon-to-open Colorado Springs locations of the brewery are both located on the 105th West meridian. Plans related to the Colorado Springs location include offering 24 105 West beers on tap, wood-fired pizza and smoked wings, a grill menu, wine, draft mead, and more.
“We’ll keep a few of Trinity’s traditions alive, while adding our own 105 West flair,” says 105 West. “Renovations are planned in 2026, and we’ll stay open during construction — so come by and check it out! Current projected opening is the 1st week of January 2026.”
The public announcement related to the fate of Trinity Brewing was a bit vague, but it sounds like they’ll be closing up shop opposed to moving elsewhere. Our team has reached out to Trinity for comment and this piece will be updated when we hear more.
Trinity Brewing Company has been a staple in the Colorado Springs craft beer community since 2008 – long before many of the newer names moved in. The spot has also long been known for serving up food that’s made in-house – something else that’s made it stand out among most local breweries over the years.
