Denver ranked among top ‘cities for singles’ in US

Finding love can be difficult, especially as prices for dining out and other activities have made dating more expensive.

WalletHub recently released a study looking at the best and worst cities for singles, and one Colorado city ranked highly among the best.

To create their rankings, WalletHub compared more than 182 U.S. cities across 35 metrics that fit into three aspects of dating – economics, fun and recreation, and dating opportunities. Among the metrics used to evaluate the cities were the share of the population that is single, the number of online dating opportunities, and the average price for a two-person meal.

After the numbers were crunched, Denver ended up ranking in 5th-place overall. The Mile High City ranked 154th of the 182 cities in terms of ‘economics’ metrics, 21st for fun and recreation, and third for dating opportunities. In other words, Denver in dating is expensive – but if you can afford it, it’s a pretty great place to date. Denver also ranked highly in terms of gender balance among singles, ranking fifth for that specific metric, as well.

Atlanta, Georgia took first place as the best city for singles. Brownsville, Texas ranked as the worst.
