50 vehicles slide off single Colorado highway during first Front Range snow of season
Roads are slick around Colorado, and as might be expected, local law enforcement has responded to numerous accidents throughout the day on Wednesday, with dangerous driving conditions expected to persist throughout the night and into the Thursday morning commute.
While many roads have proven hazardous, a certain road that gets notoriously slick during winter weather saw dozens of vehicles slide of the pavement throughout the morning hours today.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies spotted around 50 vehicles that had traveled off of Highway 93 during their patrols – and that update came at noon. It’s likely many more incidents have occurred since.
The sheriff’s office also noted that deputies helped to get several vehicles unstuck when possible, with tow trucks also seen assisting in images from the scene.
No injuries were reported at the time of the noon announcement, with the public cautioned to slow down and to leave plenty of room between vehicles.
As noted, dangerous driving conditions are likely to continue in Colorado, at least through Wednesday night and likely into Thursday morning. Pack your vehicle with these 27 items to stay a bit safer during winter travels.
