Vehicle of missing 20-year-old found submerged in Colorado canal
UPDATE: According to a report from Denver7, loved ones have confirmed that Kaylee Russell was found and did not survive.
Colorado State Patrol has confirmed that the vehicle of missing 20-year-old Kaylee Russell was found submerged in a canal at about 2 p.m. on December 4. After an extensive multi-day search, the crash was found near Timnath on Larimer County Road 1. The black 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan driven by Kaylee Russell was found in the water off the east side of the road.
Russell was last seen in the area of the Loveland/Johnston Park-N-Ride near Highway 402 and I-25 around 6 p.m. on November 30.
Per the latest update from Colorado State Patrol, divers who were dispatched at the scene of the crash did see a body in the vehicle. At last report, the identification of that body has not been determined. The body will be identified once it is recovered.
The crash is being investigated by the Colorado State Patrol Vehicular Crimes Unit.
