New restaurant in Denver imagined as ‘love letter’ to northern Italy region

Dear Emilia, a new Italian Restaurant, is set to open its doors on Jan. 29, 2026 on the ground floor of The Current in Denver’s River North Arts District.

Imagined as a love letter to Italy’s Emilia Romagna region, Dear Emilia will blend “soulful Italian cooking with a warm, design-rich dining experience.” The restaurant will take inspiration from the region’s food traditions, craft, and cultural heritage.

The restaurant is created by the team behind Restaurant Olivia, a Michelin-recognized establishment. The team includes Chef Ty Leon, Bar Director Austin Carson, and Michelin Award-Winning Hospitality Director Heather Morrison.

“This restaurant has been a long time coming, and it means so much to finally welcome people into a space we’ve poured so much care into,” Morrison said in a press release. “I can’t wait for guests to experience what we adore about this beautiful region, whether they’re discovering it for the first time or reconnecting with flavors they already love. More than anything, we’re hoping to add something truly special to Denver’s vibrant and ever-evolving dining scene.”

Dear Emilia features seating for 88 guests, a ten seat patio, and private dining room for up to 22 people. With arched ceilings and distinct nooks throughout the dining room, the restaurant was designed to feel “warm, welcoming and intentionally intimate.”
