Suspect in Texas felony case arrested while snowboarding at Colorado resort

The Steamboat Springs Police Department has announced that a man wanted for an armed robbery warrant out of Texas was arrested after taking a snowboarding trip to Steamboat Resort.

According to a report on the matter, local law enforcement was informed by the US Marshals Service that it was believed suspect Isaac Van Marcantel, 23, was in the area of Steamboat Resort, potentially with a firearm.

The Steamboat Springs Police Department partnered with Steamboat Resort security, the Routt County Sheriff’s Office, and the US Marshals Service to locate Van Marcantel, with Van Marcantel taken into custody without incident at the base of the resort. Per the report on the matter, suspect Van Marcantel had been snowboarding when he was located.

Van Marcantel was wanted as a suspect in what a CBS report described as aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon. The incident reportedly took place on November 12 in Austin.

Now in custody, Van Marcentel will be transported back to Texas for court proceedings.

All suspects are to be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. All charges and mentioned crimes are merely accusations that were noted by law enforcement.
