Two people taken to hospital after chairlift fall at Vail

Two men fell from the Mountain Express Lift at Vail Ski Resort on Monday, Dec. 15.

According to Vail Mountain, ski patrol responded to a report that a 59-year-old male guest from Sherman Oaks, California and a 21-year-old male guest from Ranch Palo Verdes, California fell from the Mountaintop Express Lift, also known as Lift No. 4, on Monday.

The guests were taken to Vail Health Hospital. Their conditions have not been released.

Vail Mountain has not released additional information on how or why the fall happened.

This comes as the second chairlift accident in Colorado this ski season. A snowboarder was injured after falling from the Montezuma Express chairlift at Keystone Resort on Nov. 13.
