Two Colorado Christmas markets were just ranked among best in U.S.
Featuring traditional food, music, and seasonal treats, Christmas markets are the perfect place to immerse oneself in the holiday spirit.
Those in the Centennial State don’t have to travel far to find a great one, either – USA Today recently published its list of the best holiday markets in the US to visit this season, and two Colorado markets ended up snagging a spot in the rankings.
USA Today’s 10Best is a readers’ choice awards program that highlights the best in the country’s destinations, food and drink, hotels, and things to do. An expert panel nominates their top picks for each category and readers vote to determine the ten winners.
On this year’s ‘best Christmas markets’ ranking, Denver Christkindlmarket took ninth place. The authentic German-style holiday market takes place at Tivoli Quad on Auraria Campus and features craft and food vendors from Colorado and Europe. It’s a great place to listen to live music and pick up unique holiday gifts.
The second Colorado spot included on the USA Today ranking was the Georgetown Christmas Market, ranking in tenth place. According to USA Today, the snow-blanketed town of Georgetown is adorned with greenery and lights during the holiday season. The old-fashioned Christmas market experience includes an outdoor European marketplace, roasted chestnuts, horse-drawn wagon rides, and visits from St. Nicholas.
The Carmel Christkindlmarket in Carmel, Indiana took first place as the top Christmas Market in the US.
