5 drive-to hot springs locations you’ll find near Colorado Springs

Hot springs offer the perfect soothing and relaxing escape amid colder winter weather. Colorado is full of plenty of unique and luxurious hot springs that can be easily driven to from some of the state’s biggest cities.

Here are some close-by hot springs to Colorado Springs:

  1. Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resort

Estimated drive time: 2 hours

Located in Nathrop and near Buena Vista, this resort offers an excellent blend of relaxation and adventure. The resort is surrounded by the Collegiate Peaks and Chalk Cliffs, and blends natural mineral hot springs, modern pools and stunning mountain views. Guests will have access to the historic bath house, creekside hot springs, and the Infinity Pool.

2. Desert Reef Hot Springs

Estimated drive time: 51 minutes

This natural mineral hot springs pools is set in a desert oasis in the mountains and offers guests the chance to soak in one of many pools.

3. Sunwater Spa

Estimated drive time: 15 minutes

This mountain spa and wellness center is located in Manitou Springs, only about six miles from Colorado Springs. The spa features saltwater pools, a steam room, saunas, and hot and cold plunge pools. Guests can also enjoy the resort’s massage therapy and spa treatments.

4. Dakota Hot Springs

Estimated drive time: 45 minutes

Dakota Hot Springs’ free form concrete pool has an average diameter of 70 feet and varies in depth from 3 to 5 feet. The water temperature is a consistent 108 degrees at the wellhead and flows in to a 6 foot diameter circular tub. The remainder of the pool sits between 95 and 98 degrees. Located among the Sangre De Christo mountains and Rocky Mountains, the hot springs also provides scenic mountain views.

5. Valley View Hot Springs

Estimated drive time: 2 hours and 45 minutes

The Valley View Hot Springs is a longer drive, but well worth it. The hot springs consists of three ponds within easy hiking distance. Water bubbles up from the ground into pools surrounded by rock walls. The ponds usually run between 91 and 97 degrees. The area also includes a large swimming pool with two shared bathhouses and a sauna. The Apple Tree ponds are rock ponds filled with electrically heated water. Reservations are highly recommended and members get priority.
