Cuchara Mountain Park announces grand re-opening date for lift-powered skiing

Cuchara Mountain Park, a historic ski area in southern Colorado, has announced its grand re-opening date, bringing chairlift serviced skiing and snowboarding to the area for the first time in 25 years.

In an announcement on Friday, Panadero Ski Corporation said the ski hill will open next weekend, Jan. 17 and 18., writing that there will be “music, food, and family-friendly fun all weekend long.”

The announcement comes after Panadero Ski Corporation officially received the state-issued license to operate Chair 4 on Thursday, Jan. 8.

According to reporting from Denver7, the plan is for Cuchara to be open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Denver7 also reports that season passes can be purchased for $230 ahead of opening day and $250 after. Day passes only cost $45 and kids under 15 can ski at Cuchara for free.
