As one of Colorado’s most well-known mountain towns, Breckenridge offers a variety of thrilling activities to do in the winter. This makes it a great destination for kids to begin to explore the outdoors.

Here are some activities that are perfect for the whole family:

Enjoy a gondola ride up the BreckConnect Gondola, which will take you to the base of Peak 8 for stunning mountain views.

  1. Lighting of Breckenridge & Race of the Santas

This event is a festive start to the holiday season in Breckenridge and it takes place no Dec. 6. The town will light up with 250,000 LED lights over 11 miles of display. A parade of Santas will race down Main Street, and there will also be a dog parade and Moose March for kids.

2. Ullr Fest

Kids will love this quirky festival that consists of events praising Ullr, the Norse god of snow, and hoping for a powder-filled winter and ski season.

3. International Snow Sculpture Championships

Kids are sure to be fascinated by watching teams carve massive blocks of snow into intricate and stunning snow sculptures. As an outdoor but low intensity event, the International Snow Sculpture Championships is a perfect family-friendly outing.
