A skier’s guide to Copper Mountain: Terrain, dining, lodging, parking, and more

Copper Mountain offers 2,500 acres of high alpine, naturally divided terrain, making it an ideal ski resort for all levels, including beginner, intermediate, and expert.

As well as its world class terrain, Copper is a lively village filled with restaurants, bars, shops, and more. The premier Colorado resort has excellent lifts, plenty of diverse terrain, and much more.

The most noteworthy terrain:

Roundabout (Green) – this is a classic, gentle run for first time skiers.

Easy Feelin’ (Green) – this wide and smooth run is off the American Flyer and perfect for practicing turns.

Union Meadows & Soliloquy (Green) – this area offers longer and scenic greens for beginner skiers looking to build confidence.

Andy’s Encore (Blue) – this long run from the Super Bee area provides rolling terrain perfect for beginners looking to improve.

Copperopolis & Collage (Blue) – these two wide, long, groomed, and fast cruisers help intermediates get in vertical feet and provide scenic views.

Little Burn (Blue) – this run is a perfect step up for intermediates wanting to venture into some more challenging terrain, mixing groomed areas with small moguls.

Triple Treat & Formidable (Black) – these long, leg-burning runs are great when the ice softens up.

Rosi’s Run (Black) – this run is often groomed but gets more challenging when bumped up.

Boulderado (Double Black) – located on Tucker Mountain, this extreme run features steep chutes.

Drain Pipe (Double Black) – this glade provides big vertical and stunning views.

Where to park:

Skiers can park for free in the Alpine and Far East lots, which also provide free shuttles to the village. Skiers can also choose paid parking in lots like Ten Mile, Chapel, and Beeler, which are closer to Center Village.

Where to eat on mountain:

Aerie – this lodge perched at the top of American Eagle lift is a full-service casual restaurant, bar and lounge, and food hall, and offers coffee and pastries.

Grand Hall Market – located at the base of Super Bee, this Italian-inspired food court serves up pizza, pasta, paninis, soups, and grill items.

Ten Mile Tavern – this pub-like restaurant serves elevated pub fare and beer.

Downhill Duke’s – located in Center Village, this relaxed spot offers burgers, sandwiches, and outdoor seating.

Where to stay:

Cooper One Lodge – this is one of the closest lodgings to the ski lifts at Copper, located merely steps away from the American Eagle quad. It’s also great for access to the village.

Tucker Mountain Lodge – this alpine-style lodge features a hot tub, sauna, and fitness room.

Cambria Hotel Copper Mountain – this modern hotel is located near Copper’s base area and offers easy access to the slopes plus great restaurant options.

Frisco Inn on Galena – although this one is a little further away, the cozy boutique hotel still offers a good location and access to the nearby town of Frisco.

Events gong on at Copper this season:

Toyota U.S. Grand Prix World Cup Halfpipe – top international snowboard and freeski athletes will compete on halfpipe events on Dec. 19-20.

Aerie Sunset Ski Series – this social, apres-ski focused event consists of sunset ski runs, with music, food, and drinks at the mid-mountain Aerie Lodge after.

Sunsation – this is an end-of-season festival that features free concerts in the spring.

Slush Rush – this is Copper’s famous pond skimming event.
