Dog rescued after being found in storm drain on freezing night

Firefighters rescued a dog that had become stuck in a storm drain on a freezing night in Colorado Springs.

According to an Instagram post, crews with the Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) were called to help rescue the dog that had found itself in a storm drain amid freezing conditions. Rescue crews responded and went into the drain to retrieve the dog.

“To keep him warm during the rescue, we wrapped him up in a wildland shirt – because nobody gets left out in the cold on our watch,” the CSFD wrote in the Instagram post.

The dog was warmed up and cared for by Animal Law Enforcement, but didn’t have a collar on him.

However, CSFD posted an update saying that the dog’s owner was found and that they were working on reuniting them.
