According to a press release, the Frisco Spontaneous Combustion Bonfire and Fireworks event will take place on Saturday, February 7 in the Marina lot at the corner of Summit Boulevard and Marina Road starting at 6 p.m. The event is free to attend and will include its namesake bonfire, music, and fireworks, with snacks and drinks available to purchase. Sales of snacks and drinks will benefit a group called Mile High Behavioral Healthcare, which aims to “provide a caring, seamless continuum of behavior healthcare to those in need.”

The fuel source of the bonfire will be about 300 “gently used” Christmas trees, with Christmas tree donations accepted from the community until 4 p.m. on the day of the event. Donated trees must be stripped of lights, ornaments, and other decorations and can be dropped off at the Marina dirt lot 24 hours a day. It’s also worth noting that only real trees are accepted.

As far as the timing of the event goes, the bonfire will be lit at 6 p.m. when the event starts and fireworks will take place at 8 p.m. DJ Landry will be playing music between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Walking to the event or taking Summit Stage public transportation is encouraged. Those who must drive will need to park on Main Street and side avenues, utilizing crosswalks to reach the event safely.

Additional information about the event can be found here.
