Ikon is ‘paying’ passholders to hit the slopes this month

Snow has been low this year in Colorado, and while numbers specific to Ikon Pass locations haven’t been released, industry numbers that have been made available seem to point to skier visits, in general, being down. Whether or not that may have played a role in an incentive program recently announced by Alterra is unknown, but either way, guests using the Ikon Pass during the month of February are set to get a kickback.

Ikon Passholders age 18 and older who log a ski day at any U.S. Ikon Pass destination now through February 25 will earn $20 in Mountain Credits per day, up to $60 in total credits. Eligible passholders must register in the company’s ‘Ski & Ride Reward Program’ (do so here) and the earned Mountain Credits are scheduled to be added to passholder accounts by March 6, 2026.

Mountain Credits can be used at various food and beverage spots, retail outlets, and equipment shops where this form of payment is accepted.

While visiting any Ikon Pass destination will reportedly earn credits for eligible passholders, the credits can’t be used at all Colorado resorts included on the pass. Per the program’s terms and conditions, credits can be used at Steamboat and Winter Park Resort, not Aspen Snowmass, Copper Mountain, Eldora Mountain Resort, or Arapahoe Basin. A full breakdown of out-of-state resorts where credits can be used can be found here.

Find more information about specifically where credits can be used here: Steamboat (16 locations) & Winter Park (11 locations).

Some exceptions to who is eligible for the rewards program apply (more information here). Unused credits expire after May 31.

Find the form to register here and find the terms and conditions of the program here.
