Epic Pass offers 20% discount for ‘young adults’ for 2026-2027 season
You’ve heard of the ‘Senior’s Discount.’ You’ve heard of ‘Kids Eat Free.’ But what about special pricing for those aged 13 to 30? Vail Resorts has announced they’ll be offering a special ‘Gen Z’ discount on some Epic Pass products for the upcoming 2026-2027 season and it’s set to lower prices for this demographic in a major way – up to a 39 percent discount in some cases.
While skiers and snowboarders age 31 to 64 can expect to pay full price for their Epic Pass next season, those age 13 to 30 will be eligible for a 20 percent discount, per a recent press release from the company. This means up to $220 in savings. For the full Epic Pass, an adult can expect to pay $1,089 if purchasing today at what’s being billed as the lowest price of the season. Those age 13 to 30, however, will only be paying $869 for the same pass. For the popular Epic Local product, the price drops from $809 to $649 for Gen Zers.
But wait – there’s more.
Vail Resorts is also offering a discount on Epic Pass and Epic Local Pass products of up to $175 for anyone who visited one of the company’s 37 North American resorts with a standard lift ticket during the 2025-2026 season – and that’s not restricted to just Gen Z. That said, young adults eligible for the full extent of both discounts could purchase an Epic Pass for as low as $696 or an Epic Local Pass for $474 considering current rates – a 34 percent discount on the full pass and a 39 percent discount on the ‘local’ pass compared to last season’s cheapest rates.
All discounts aside, the standard Epic Pass is priced slightly higher compared to what was being offered for the 2025-2026 season last March. The full Epic Pass for the 2025-2026 season launched at $1,051 for adults with the Epic Local Pass launching at $783, with those passes respectively priced at $1,089 and $809 for next season (with no discounts applied). That means that Gen Z skiers and snowboarders will be getting roughly a 17 percent discount on prices compared to last season with the newly added ‘Young Adult’ pricing, and that’s before any ‘previous season lift ticket’ discount is applied.
Per usual, the biggest discount when it comes to Epic Pass products goes to active and retired military, with the Military Pass costing $215 for the 2026-2027 season for this group. Veterans also get a discount, able to get the military pass for $620.
“In a major step to shape the future of skiing and snowboarding, Vail Resorts is doubling down on accessibility with new pricing for Gen Z and young travelers,” reads a press release related to the new 13-to-30 discount.
“The future of the sport depends on the next generation of skiers and riders, and it is our responsibility to create a more accessible pathway for them well into young adulthood,” said Rob Katz, CEO of Vail Resorts. “We know that young travelers, especially Gen Z, are prioritizing experiences when deciding how to spend their time and money – and we hope to make skiing and snowboarding an easy decision for them.”
In Colorado, the full Epic Pass includes unlimited access to Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, and Crested Butte, plus seven days at Telluride. The Epic Local Pass includes unlimited access to Breckenridge, Keystone, and Crested Butte, with 10 total days to be split between Vail and Beaver Creek.
