The saga of a lost wallet that was found at Colorado’s Copper Mountain ski resort continues.

For those unfamiliar with the case, the Summit County Sheriff’s Office recently reported that a lost wallet was found in the Copper Mountain Village area. While there was no identifying information in the wallet, it did contain photos, cash, a business card, and a small bag of what appeared to be cocaine (later confirmed via testing). Without knowledge of the wallet’s owner, it was booked into evidence.

Flash forward to the latest update from the sheriff’s office, released a week later. A man came forward to claim the wallet, reporting that it had been stolen by a Copper Mountain resort employee. A deputy with the Summit County Sheriff’s Office met the man in person to inform him how he would be able to get his wallet back, also issuing the man a summons for unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Whether or not any case against the man will hold up in court is to be determined. All suspects are to be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
