Colorado State Patrol has asked the public for assistance in tracking down a vehicle that was involved in a suspected Boulder County hit-and-run incident involving a cyclist on the morning of May 11.

Per a report on the matter, a Ford Bronco and a cyclist were both headed southbound on Highway 36, just north of Nelson Road and around mile marker 27, when a collision occurred at about 11:04 a.m. The initial investigation indicates that the Bronco veered onto the shoulder of the highway, colliding with the cyclist on its passenger side. At that point, the cyclist lost control and crashed while the Bronco reportedly continued south on Highway 36.

The cyclist, a 75-year-old male, was transported to a local hospital with injuries described as serious.

Authorities went on to describe the Bronco as light blue in color – a newer four-door model with a white top. It is believed that damage exists on its front passenger side.

All suspects are to be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
