Mandatory evacuations underway near reservoir due to new wildfire in Colorado

UPDATE: Per an 8:35 p.m. update on May 11, evacuation orders have been fully lifted.

A mandatory evacuation order has been issued for Sedona Hills in the Loveland area due to a wildfire. This is located northeast of Carter Lake.

A first report about the mandatory evacuations was published by Larimer Emergency Telephone Authority at 3:19 p.m. on May 11. Residents of the Sedona Hills are have been told to leave immediately for their safety.

Per a report from Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control, multi-mission aircraft and other aviation have been requested to assist local ground resources. The Lone Pine suppresion module was also enroute to the scene, at last report.

Information regarding the size of the fire has not yet been released.

At last report, the evacuation area stretches from the northern end of Carter Lake Reservoir up to U.S. 34, bordered by County Road 29 to the east and stretching toward the foothills to the west.

Those who have been evacuated can go to Jax Mercantile at Wilson and Highway 34.
