Family sues after 7-year-old reportedly sustained serious injuries in fall from Colorado ski lift
It sounds like another lawsuit related to a Colorado ski lift fall is underway.
Local news source Aspen Daily News reports that an Australian family has filed a lawsuit against Aspen Skiing Co. following a seven-year-old’s 25-foot fall from the Alpine Springs chairlift at Snowmass. The incident reportedly took place in January 2026.
Per that lawsuit, the boy reportedly broke his pelvis in multiple places and suffered a concussion that left him in a wheelchair for several weeks. The lawsuit alleges the boy was misloaded and not securely seated, as well as that he was “dangling from the carrier” prior to the fall with on-site staff unaware the situation was unfolding.
According to Aspen Daily News, Aspen Skiing Company “generally denies the allegations,” claiming “inaccurate statements and portrayals of facts.”
