Popular part of Rocky Mountain National Park set to close for a few days
According to Rocky Mountain National Park, Wild Basin Road will be closed to all uses – including vehicles, bicycles, pedestrians, and otherwise – from July 21 through July 23. The closure will start at the Wild Basin Entrance Station and includes the entire two-mile stretch of the road to Wild Basin Trailhead.
The reason for the closure is that park staff will be spreading gravel and grading the route, addressing ruts and potholes while also improving drainage.
Sandbeach Lake Trail’s parking area will not be impacted.
