Denver breaks heat record on Saturday
Denver broke a daily heat record on Saturday, with temperatures reaching triple digits.
As of 3 p.m., the record high was 101 degrees at the official measuring station at Denver International Airport, according to 9News and the National Weather Service (NWS).
The previous record was 99 degrees and set on July 25 in 1931 and 1963, according to the NWS.
The hot temperatures are expected to continue throughout the weekend, with highs pushing 100-105 degrees across the plains on Sunday, according to the NWS.
